It may not stick to the cheaply made "wall hanging" backgrounds that come from other countries since most of them are not true felt/flannel boards. If your felt/flannel board requires velcro to make the figures stick, then it is probably not a true felt/flannel board. However, if this set does not stick to the background you have, you can add velcro (not included) to make it work with your wall hanging.
